Role Overview
AltoTech Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with HVAC field experience and project coordination skills to commission, tune, and optimize building energy systems. Solid mechanical fundamentals and basic BMS/BAS knowledge required. IoT/smart-building experience is a plus—willingness to learn is equally valued.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination
Manage commissioning and energy optimization projects from kick-off to handover.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and client teams; track progress and resolve issues.
Field Work and Commissioning
Conduct site surveys, field inspections, and equipment readiness checks.
Execute start-up procedures, test safeties/interlocks, and verify basic control sequences.
Perform functional performance tests on energy conservation measures.
Energy Performance
Collect and analyze key performance data (ΔT, kW, kW/ton, COP) across HVAC systems.
Support energy M&V activities and identify optimization opportunities.
Troubleshoot field issues: sensor drift, VSD parameters, control loop instability, metering errors.
Qualifications
Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Energy Engineering, or related field.
3+ years HVAC field work in commercial/industrial buildings.
Experience coordinating project delivery and managing site activities.
Can read schematics, and vendor submittals.
Proficient with field instruments (clamp meter, power analyzer, flow meter, data logger).
Basic BMS/BAS understanding (BACnet/Modbus point checks, trending—no programming required).
Working knowledge of energy analysis concepts (kW/ton, COP, cooling load profiles).
Methodical, detail-oriented, strong communicator, eager to learn new technologies.
